Silent auctions have become a staple at fundraising events around the world. Now Daana has made it easier by introducing a tablet-based electronic tool designed to make bidding effortless. Guests at the events will bid on items through designated tablets found on their dinner tables and appointed tables throughout the event. With just a quick explanation and a "How-To" manual found on all the tablets, guests will be ready to bid for their favorite items- proceeds of which go to the nonprofit organization.

Donor-advised funds (DAFs) have been a convenient way for a company or individual to donate money to a charity or nonprofit organization of their choice for years. Despite the ease of donating through a DAF, many companies and people instead chose to donate through check, cash, and credit cards. DAF Direct is a web application that makes it easier than ever to donate money through a DAF whether it’s $50 or $30,000. And because the owner of the DAF has a say on how that money is used, many people are turning to it as a means to make sure their donation is being used efficiently.

Imagine you are organizing a walk to benefit your nonprofit organization. You’ve never done it before and you have a limited budget. Where would you start? Now you don’t have to worry about websites, landing pages, registration sites, or emails. You can do away with cold calling your supporters, tweeting messages and sending out countless updates (who knew there was going to be a Hurricane on the day of the big event?). What if you had an app that was your personal assistant?

According to the Urban Institute, the number of nonprofit organizations increased by 25% between 2001 and 2011. While there are more organizations than ever fighting for social equality, it also means that there is less money to go around. Thankfully there are companies like 2Dialog who are attempting to make the process a bit easier for nonprofits, offering them fundraising tools and analytics to help reach the donors needed to fund their organization.

TurningPoint is an interesting solution for organizations that need to gauge constituent response. In terms of non-profits, it is mainly geared toward educational institution, but other applications could certainly be devised as the nonprofit world becomes more high-tech. Basically, the system integrates with PowerPoint in order to poll audience members. This has a variety of implications, and for educational purposes can allow teachers to gauge students’ comprehension throughout a lesson. Additionally, the system can be used for test situations, potentially streamlining the testing/grading/feedback cycle to be more efficient.
