GivingTuesday Shows Increased Activity

Email still thrives in the nonprofit world as an effective way to contact donors. ConstantContact is used by many nonprofits as their email platform and the service tracks usage for important events. This year's results show an overall increase in email being sent during the week prior to GivingTuesday with Saturday leading in increases but the Monday prior to GivingTuesday with the most email traffic. See the chart below.

ChariPick Redefines the Giving Experience with New App

A 2015 study by the Center of Philanthropy at Indiana University showed that at the end of 2014, charitable giving was at an all-time high, with 95.4% of  households giving to charity, contributing on average almost $3,000 in the calendar year. DC Based Startup Makes Giving Easier for Nonprofits and Donors

Magnify It, a startup based out of 1776, an incubator in Arlington, VA, launched its One Tap Giving service. Founded in 2014, Magnify It allows nonprofits to fulfill their missions by improving their online fundraising campaigns. Overall Charitable Giving to Nonprofits Down in September

The Blackbaud Index today reported that overall charitable giving to nonprofits decreased 3.5% and online giving increased 7.5% for the three months ending September 2015 as compared to the same period in 2014.
