When choosing who to partner with many charities are forgoing traditional stars to partner with social media stars, reports the Chronicle of Philanthropy. A recent DoSomething.org anti-teen pregnancy campaign featuring YouTube stars Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox drove 51,000 people to the DoSomething.org site, which accounted for over 33% of the signups. Comcast Awards Grants

In 2014 Comcast donated $500,000 to New England charities, reports the Hartford Courant. The Comcast Foundation distributed grants to 21 nonprofits in New England. Charity Keeps Kids with Cancer Connected

At the annual Robert W. Baird Seminar, the Wise Investor group raised $21,000 for a local Reston, Virginia nonprofit HopeCam, reports Connection Newspaper. HopeCam uses technology to children suffering from cancer overcome social isolation. HopeCam provides the child with a tablet, internet connection if necessary and then helps the child’s school establish a regular connection with the child. Read more...

Nonprofits Still Lag in Digital and Online Resources

According to Associations Now, the Nonprofit Technology Network and Care2, Inc. have released the 2015 Digital Outlook Report.  The report found that only 43 percent of  organizations surveyed had a staff member dedicated to digital and online strategies.
