North Carolina’s Secretary of State office is warning people to be wary of possible charity scams as Hurricane Dorian approaches the state. To help consumers, her office is offering a “Smart Donor Checklist” that can be downloaded from its website to offer tips and guidance.

The Walmart Foundation & nonprofit ReFED are working together on a Nonprofit Food Recovery Accelerator, reports Waste Dive. 

ReFED, a California-based nonprofit, recently announced the first 10 members of its new Nonprofit Food Recovery Accelerator. Each organization will receive $30,000, with funding supplied by the Walmart Foundation

According to Benzinga, a new payment platform aims to replace collection boxes, allowing donors to “drop” any amount they want into the box via mobile payments.
