Causecast: Staying in Touch with Donors

causecastThese days, almost everyone has a cell phone, which makes it the perfect way for non-profits to stay in touch with their supporters. Contacting supporters via text is a low cost, low-key way to keep them engaged.

Causecast Mobile Fundraising offers several mobile fundraising solutions to help non-profits collect donations or engage supporters. This includes a way for non-profits to send updates, links to petitions, calls to action and information about volunteer opportunities. Causecast offers a Text2Give program; with it, supporters can donate to their favorite cause via their cell phone. The Text2Give feature allows non-profits to accept either a $5 or $10 donation, which is billed to the customer’s monthly cell phone bill, no credit card is required.

Nonprofits who wish accept donations in any denomination can use Causecast’s Text2Pledge option. Supporters’ text a keyword plus the dollar amount they would like to donate to the non-profit. A few minutes later, the supporter receives a customized text message thanking them for their donation. After that, the donor will receive a follow up phone call to complete the donation via credit card.Text2Pledge also lets donors receive opt-in to receive text message updates, alerts and reminders.

To help non-profits stay in contact with their supporters Causecast offers Text2Broadcast. Non-profits can store an unlimited number of mobile phone numbers and send out news, updates, alerts, call to actions, links, volunteer information and petitions. Text2Pledge lets non-profits export the phone numbers into their existing donor base. Causecast works with most major cell phone carriers.
