Fundraising Plans for this Summer Jade Masri

Fundraising and summer fun make a great combination. With schools close and everyone looking for an exciting activity to perform in their free time, you can take advantage of favorite summer activities to fundraise and get the amount that is enough for a cause of your choice. This season gives you a chance to take advantage of great weather outdoors and fundraise for your cause. Here are some best fundraising ideas that will allow you to take advantage of summer.

  • Host a Swim-a-thon

If you have access to an outdoor swimming pool that can draw a huge crowd, this would be an excellent idea for you, especially during hot summer weather. A swim-a-thon is basically a swimming competition that can be fun for people who appreciate it. It can help you encourage people to compete while giving you an opportunity to fundraise as much money as possible. Before hosting the competition, spread the word as much as possible about the event and encourage potential donors to participate. If you don’t have a pool, you can talk to the management of the right hotel or resort in your locality and ask them to allow you to run the event. Organize some prizes for the winners to make the competition lively.

  • Host a concert

Concerts during summer are popular for a reason. They make the holidays lively, fun, and engaging. Take advantage of the fun and high energy elicited by the concert to reach your audience and potential donors. Identify the type of music they are interested in and make a good collection. Talk to the relevant bands that can agree to provide the show for free or at a lower fee. You will need to work on food, beverages, and permits beforehand. Raise money through tickets and beverage sales. Include an educational component in the concert by welcoming a good speaker who can make the event lively.

  • Get an ink for charity

Tattoos are some of the things that most people want to have in the world today. You can use this to raise money for your nonprofit. Temporary tattoos for a cause allow you to raise money from donors while tattooing those willing to take it. July 17, which is National Tattoo Day, is a perfect day to do this. Have the supporters of your cause send pictures of their causey ink and create tattoos that volunteers can then distribute. You can also partner with willing tattoo artists to do this.

  • Beach volleyball

If you live near a beach, this might be one of the best fundraising ideas for you. Apart from sunbathing, you can let your donors enjoy their summer sun and sand by hosting a beach volleyball. This game makes them not only active, but a tournament can make them earn something as well. Set up a tournament and ask teams to fundraise for them to enter. The fans can also contribute through tickets for a cause. You can also sell t-shirts and other items that can be bought faster to raise money. Make the event competitive by giving away prizes and trophies to the winners.

  • Host a bike-a-thon

This kind of event can be good if hosted on World Bicycle Day on June 3. One of the sporting activities carried out during summer is Tour-de-France. However, you can host your local “Tour-de-France” to fundraise for your project. Design a perfect route for the competition and let the competitors register with an amount for participation. Get permits from the relevant authorities and make sure the area you choose for such a competition is safe and open enough for an after-party. Sell things such as bracelets, T-shirts, and food.
