Text2Fund

text2fundText to give campaigns offer donors a simple way to give in the moment, but they do have their limitations. Most text to give campaigns only allow donors to give $10 at a time and campaigns usually are limited to registered nonprofits that have more than $500,000 a year in donations, making it impossible for a smaller grass roots organization to run a text to give campaign.

Another drawback is the delay between when the donor gives the money and when the nonprofit actually receives the money. Traditional text to give campaigns add the donation to the donor’s monthly cellphone bill and do not remit the payment to the nonprofit until after the cellphone user has paid the bill. This means nonprofits often don’t see their funds for up to six weeks.

If your organization is smaller and looking to run a text to give campaign, Maestro offers a Text2Fund platform that lets you run text to give campaign without limitations. The Maestro Text2Fund is open to any 501(c)3. It doesn’t run the funds through the donor’s carrier, instead it lets the donor use any credit card or Paypal account.

Text2Fund works similar to a traditional text to give campaign, the donor sends a text to a special number, what is different is their reply includes a link to the donation form. At this point the donor is able to select their method of payment.

Along with completing a one time donation Text2Fund is also set up to allow donors to make recurring donations, again in any amount they wish.By using these funding sources, the donations are instantaneous, which means the nonprofit can receive their funds within days. Also, with Text2Fund donors can choose any amount they want to give.
