Kintera Connect Open Platform, Applications Now Available

Nonprofits Can Now Benefit From Integrated Applications Including Community Toolbars and Workplace Giving Portals

Kintera Inc. has announced that Kintera Connect™, the company’s open application integration platform, is available for clients and partners to integrate directly with Kintera technology. As a result, best of breed solutions are now available through the Kintera Connect Partner Program, providing organizations with the freedom to select solutions to best meet their unique needs.


Kintera has partnered with nearly 30 industry leading partners in both the enterprise and nonprofit technology sectors to develop new solutions to the challenges organizations face. As an example, FreeCause provides customizable browser toolbars to help nonprofits stay at the forefront of supporters’ minds. Integrating with Kintera CRM, Kintera clients using the FreeCause toolbar can leverage the extensive segmentation data housed in Kintera’s platform to segment their audience and provide tailored information and messages to constituents via the FreeCause toolbar. For example, geographic information such as where supporters live would enable an organization to send broadcast information about specific regional events only to the relevant audience using the nonprofit-branded toolbar.

Both Kintera partners and clients benefit from the company’s multi-tenant architecture. Unlike client/server or hosted ASP environments, Kintera’s multi-tenancy enables all clients and applications to share one centrally maintained common infrastructure and code base. As a result, Kintera clients benefit from low costs, rapid deployment, ongoing maintenance and upgrades, and a focus on scalability and performance. In addition, the multi-tenant architecture creates a distinct boundary between Kintera’s open platform and the applications that run on it, which means that an application is prevented from changing or infringing on any other application unlike other platforms where it is common to alter underlying code. Kintera’s multi-tenancy also provides consistent APIs, which means that Kintera partners can develop an application integrated with Kintera technology once and offer it repeatedly to other clients.

By selecting the WPG application, organizations can consolidate distribution, eliminate the need for merchant accounts, and save cost, efficiency and staffing, while offering employees more direct control over where their money goes as a result of the integration with Kintera.
