Bill Stanczykiewicz, senior assistant dean for external relations at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, discussed the latest sector trends in his keynote session, “Fundraising in Turbulent Times” at the Nonprofit POWER event in Baltimore, Maryland. He discussed how the looming economic recession predicted for 2023 may not happen, but similar predictions are being made for 2024. Stanczykiewicz shared tips on how to fundraise during turbulent times, such as developing a comprehensive strategy, understanding donor behavior, and leveraging technology.

Fundraising during turbulent times can be a difficult task for nonprofits. It is important to understand the behavior of donors and to create a comprehensive strategy to ensure success. While technology can be a great tool, it is also important to remember that it is not a substitute for human connection and relationship building.
