Technology for Tomorrow (T4T), a nonprofit based in Williston, has been chosen by Microsoft to be part of the TechSpark Fellow Program. This program is designed to help foster economic opportunity, job creation, and innovation in the state of Vermont. On December 1st, Microsoft, T4T, and other nonprofit and community leaders will be having a Roundtable Conversation at the South Burlington Public Library. Sen. Kesha Ram Hinsdale said, “Technology for Tomorrow and Microsoft TechSpark will help Vermont grow and develop our workforce to meet the critical employment needs of today and tomorrow.” Since the launch of TechSpark in 2017, Microsoft has helped communities secure over $125 million in funding and created thousands of jobs. Microsoft hopes that by expanding the TechSpark program to all 50 states, they will be able to help more people gain access to digital skills and resources.

It is exciting to see a program like Microsoft TechSpark come to Vermont. It is a great opportunity for people to gain access to digital skills and resources. However, it is important to remember that this program is still in its early stages and it is yet to be seen how much of an impact it will have on the state. It is also important to keep in mind that this program is not the only solution to the digital divide. It is important to continue to look for other ways to bridge the digital divide and ensure that everyone has access to the same resources.
