The Emerging Ladies Academy in Omaha is teaching women valuable technology skills. Saniya Nesbit, 16, is a junior at Omaha North High School and found her interest in coding while taking a middle school computer class. Since 2017, the nonprofit organization has provided training in software, computer engineering, and aeronautics with the goal of helping young women gain the skills necessary to pursue a career in the tech field. The program has seen success in its expansion, with over 100 students enrolled in the program and many of them going on to pursue tech-related careers.

Opinion:

The Emerging Ladies Academy is doing great work in providing tech training to young women in Omaha. It is encouraging to see the success of the program, with over 100 students enrolled and many of them going on to pursue tech-related careers. However, it is important to recognize that this program is only available to a select group of people, and there is still a need to provide access to tech training to a wider range of individuals.
