NOZA Awarded Model of Excellence

Searchable database now includes more than 26,000,000 individual, corporation and foundation grant donation records; streamlines nonprofit fundraising

NOZA, Inc., the world's largest searchable database of charitable donations, today announced that its pioneering online service for nonprofit organizations is a winner of a 2007 “Model of Excellence” award from InfoCommerce Group. The NOZA database of charitable gifts includes more than 26 million records of U.S. individual, corporate and foundation grant donations. NOZA’s data is unique in the donor prospect research industry, allowing nonprofits to research donors by a known affinity to their mission and a history of charitable giving. Awardees will be showcased at the annual InfoCommerce conference, at the Park Hyatt, Philadelphia, September 24th through 26th.

“NOZA has applied high tech tools to gather and organize vast amounts of publicly available information," said Russell Perkins, Managing Director, InfoCommerce Group. “The result is an easy-to-use and high value-add database that greatly streamlines the work of professional fund-raisers. It’s an impressive example of a ‘born on the web’ information product.”

Model of Excellence awardees are selected by InfoCommerce as the ‘best of the best’ in information publishing. NOZA’s award is in business model category Subscription Supported: Pure Subscription. Past winners of the award include LexisNexis, Microsoft, D&B (Dun & Bradstreet), MorningStar, LinkedIn, IMDb (The Internet Movie Database), GuideStar, and Zillow.com.

Awardees are showcased at the annual InfoCommerce conference, which attracts infocommerce publishers from around the world to collaborate on new ways of doing business.

NOZA's data comes from Internet based annual reports, newsletters, campaign honor rolls, press releases, event sponsor lists, etc. All data is openly available on the Internet, or was at one point, and reported by the recipient organization. NOZA adds value to these vast unwieldy sources of publicly available information by aggregating, structuring and organizing the data so it is easily and immediately useful to the nonprofit industry, which accounts for 5.2 percent of the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) and 8.3 percent of wages and salaries paid in the United States. In 2006, total U.S. charitable giving increased to over $295 billion.

“NOZA is honored to be selected as a “Model of Excellence” award winner by InfoCommerce Group,” said Craig Harris, NOZA Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “It is validating to be in the company of awardees past and present, the enterprises and technologies that are significantly changing landscapes – and leveling playing fields - of the sectors they serve.”

Harris founded NOZA in 2005 with the goal to resolve one of the most serious inefficiencies of nonprofit fundraising he had experienced himself as a professional fundraiser.

About NOZA’s Database of Charitable Donations

NOZA’s database of charitable donations has grown to include more than 26 million individual, corporate and foundation donation records to U.S. charities since the company launched its first online search products in September 2006. Approximately 50,000 new donation records are added each day using NOZA's proprietary technology. All of the charitable information is collected from publicly available Internet sources. With a paid account, users can search, view and save complete donation records with 12 fields of data, including donor name, dollar range of donation (as specified by the recipient organization), type of cause, gift category, and a link to the original data source for further research. Unlimited previews, which list 4 to 7 fields of donation data, are available at no cost to all users.
