Free Technology Service for Nonprofits

Specialist non-profit technology company Bidtec, based in New York, is giving 24 non-profit organizations the chance to receive $10,000 worth of mobile technology for their fundraising event in a new project called the ‘Bidtec Challenge’.

Bidtec’s iPad-based technology allows guests to bid for auction items and pledge via a customizable application loaded onto iPads.

Recent research has shown that the use of technology at fundraising events delivers an average of 10 times the return of investment for the non-profit. The aim of the Bidtec Challenge is to give fundraisers that don’t have the budget for interactive event technology a chance to use fundraising tools to raise more money for their cause.

Organizations can apply for the ‘Bidtec Challenge’ on Bidtec’s website. The process involves two stages. Firstly, a short application form in which entrants explain how they would benefit from the technology. Secondly, Bidtec will post each non-profit on their Facebook and give the entrants till the end of the month to gain likes, comments and shares from their online supporters.

At the end of the month Bidtec will announce the winner on their website. They will receive a full event service of up to 250 iPads, fundraising software, smartphone bidding capability, payment processing, a registration tool, and a full event support team.

Bidtec CEO, Paul Beck, commented: “We want to give non-profit organizations the chance to use fundraising technology to increase donations at their gala or ball.”
