CA Technologies Announces Partnership with DonorsChoose.org

CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced a partnership with DonorsChoose.org to advance science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education initiatives in schools around the country that serve the underprivileged.

"We are grateful to partner with CA Technologies to build expertise and excitement for STEM learning within communities by introducing these critical subjects into the classroom"According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, over the next five years STEM jobs are projected to grow twice as quickly as jobs in other fields. Partnerships between businesses like CA Technologies and nonprofits like DonorsChoose.org, are helping to provide students with the education and skills required to fulfill the needs of the future workforce.

"We are grateful to partner with CA Technologies to build expertise and excitement for STEM learning within communities by introducing these critical subjects into the classroom," said Charles Best, Founder of DonorsChoose.org. "Students with STEM skills are in high demand and with this support, they will receive the crucial materials they need to help them succeed."

DonorsChoose.org, also a CA Technologies customer, enables teachers to submit funding requests for specific classroom projects and materials. Individuals and organizations can browse requests, makedonations to projects that interest them and receive photos and thank-you notes from the classroom.

"STEM education is preparing the next generation's workforce for careers in high technology by exposing them to the role of IT in the real world," said Adam Famularo, senior vice president, CA Technologies and a DonorsChoose.org National Advisory Council member. "By partnering with DonorsChoose.org, CA Technologies is fulfilling its role as an industry leader in supporting these types of socially-critical initiatives."

CA Technologies contributed $100,000 to this effort -- part of which will go toward philanthropic gift cards to be shared with CA Technologies customers and partners to provide funding to the DonorsChoose.org school or other education projects. The remaining funds will be allocated to matching STEM education classroom project requests on the DonorsChoose.org website from high-need schools in Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington. In addition, CA Technologies will donate all profits received from the sales of their new eBook on Amazon.com titled "Chief and Chuck Battle I.T. From the Future" to DonorsChoose.org for their STEM efforts.
