New App Connects Nonprofits and Volunteers

According to the Center for Digital Education, a group of University of Michigan students have created an app that connects volunteers with nonprofits that need their help.
It often takes a pack of volunteers to help a community become more sustainable and resilient, and that’s what the BackPac app is aiming to do.

With the change in tax policy that reduced the tax advantages of donating to charities, many charities have had to leverage technology to keep the donations flowing, reports Smarter CX.
In 2018, shifting tax policies and a stock market setback combined to stanch the lifeblood of the vast majority of nonprofit organizations: Charity giving declined 1.7% from year-earlier levels (accounting for inflation), according to GivingUSA.
