While the help that nonprofits have received from Facebook cannot be downplayed, some nonprofit leaders are concerned with the changes that are affecting their charities. Some of these leaders are discussing the possibility of leaving Facebook entirely due to the increasing perception of censorship imposed on nonprofits’ messaging, which puts barriers between them and their donors. One of the reasons that might have informed the decision by Facebook is the Cambridge Analytica saga that led to massive disinformation and data collection.
